Builders
Very few developers have the skill, knowledge and passion for turning historic buildings into true architectural gems. Komaru possesses extensive design and construction expertise, more than any other company of its size in Brooklyn. Our partner, Perfect Renovation, was Brooklyn's first design-build firm, recognized nationally in 2012 for its leading role in the industry with a BIG50 award from Remodeling Magazine.
Historic renovation is more than the restoration of facades to comply with Landmark Commission regulations. The real challenge is to gracefully draw out the beautiful old to merge with the striking new - throughout the building.
We push the borderline between preservation and modern living with sensitivity and innovation. This allows us to maximize the hidden potential of a building. We aim to convey a new message, a new concept - something not seen anywhere else in Brooklyn.
This is our signature - integrity and style. We believe in more than the bottom line. Our properties are aesthetic statements that enrich the character of neighborhoods, historic treasures in which everyone can be proud.
nC2 is a Crown Heights based young and dynamic firm with a rare combination of fresh design enthusiasm and mature professionalism. The firm's leaders, educated at some of the best architecture programs in the country, are licensed architects with extensive experience in historic restoration of townhouses and other type of buildings in Brooklyn's Landmark historic districts.
Richard Goodstein AIA founded nC2 architecture in 2006 after a long and enlightening journey studying, working and traveling in many different cities and places. Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, Richard earned his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University in 1986 and his Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991.
BROWNSTONE DETECTIVE
The Brownstone Detectives, led by Brian Hartig, is a for-hire research agency which aims to solve the mysteries of histories of Brooklyn’s oldest houses through extensive research of city archives, architecture magazines and interviews with previous owners.
