Crown Heights is truly the best of Brooklyn - beautiful, broad tree-lined streets, magnificent historic homes, rich diversity, neighbors who greet each other passing by, local musicians playing at cafes down the street. It is home to charming restaurants and eclectic cuisine, including Kosher delis, some of the best pizza in the borough and definitely the best jerk chicken in the city.

The Neighborhood
The Block

A short walk down Eastern Boulevard on the city's most spacious pedestrian/bike median is the enchanting Prospect Park, the Farmers Market at Grand Army Plaza, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and the Brooklyn Children's Museum. There is no place quite like it!

Stroll down this part of Dean Street and you'll see why it's one of the most beautiful and tranquil blocks in all of Crown Heights. Brower Park is a stone's throw away, with a playground, dog run and the Brooklyn Children's Museum. Restaurants, bars and shops of hopping Franklin and Nostrand Avenues, and even historic Bedford Stuyvesant are a short walk away. This area even has a rich musical heritage, once humming with jazz. It is one block from the famous jazz institution, the "Kingston Lounge", which is in the process of restoration, and former owners of 1375 Dean Street say that Eartha Kitt used to date co-owner "Uncle Kel" Gaines. Even our section of Brooklyn Ave has been renamed after the wife of jazz legend Wayne Shorter, "Anne Marie Blinn".

Music is in the soul of the block even today. Many musicians live here and play live all day at the Annual Block Party "Stoop Jam". Join us July 28th this year! Half a block away on Kingston Ave there is more exciting development. A Music Cafe serving Middle Eastern cuisine will open at the corner of Dean in early summer; an elegant restaurant, "Meat", with a beautiful new historic facade at Bergen St. is nearly finished; and a new whiskey bar is slated to join the roster. It's a fertile and exciting place to make a home.
